DonateHello, an innovative platform aiming to enhance the donation process for non-profits, approached WANDR with a critical business challenge: their existing user experience was failing to engage potential donors effectively, leading to a decline in contributions. Users were frustrated with the lack of transparency and emotional connection, pushing them to explore other donation platforms. DonateHello required a modern user experience that not only streamlined the donation process but also fostered a deeper emotional connection with its users.

What began as a UX/UI redesign project rapidly evolved into a significant, ongoing partnership, positioning WANDR as a crucial player in DonateHello’s digital transformation journey.

The Challenges

Donation platforms today lack trust, clarity, and emotional connection. Nearly 40% of donors don’t trust nonprofits, and most platforms fail to help users discover causes they truly care about or understand where their money goes. As a result, the experience feels transactional and disconnected from real impact.

1. Low Trust, Limited Transparency


Donors lacked visibility into where their money was going, with little proof of impact or accountability from nonprofits. This eroded confidence and reduced willingness to give.

2. Poor Discovery & Emotional Disconnect


Users struggled to find causes aligned with their values, and the experience lacked the emotional depth needed to motivate action—making giving feel impersonal and forgettable.

3. No Feedback Loop or Ongoing Engagement

After donating, users received little to no updates, tracking, or recognition. Without a clear sense of impact, there was no incentive to return or build long-term engagement.

WANDR reimagined the donation experience from the ground up—transforming it from a transactional interaction into a trust-driven, emotionally engaging platform designed to increase conversion and long-term donor engagement. Rather than focusing only on UI improvements, we restructured the entire experience around how donors discover, evaluate, and connect with causes.

Phase 1 - Discovery-First Experience


We redesigned the platform around a discovery-first model, recognizing that the most critical moment happens before a donation is ever made. Instead of forcing users into a generic browsing experience, we created a structured yet flexible system that allows donors to search, filter, and explore causes based on their personal values, interests, and urgency. This approach helped users quickly find causes they felt genuinely connected to, increasing both emotional engagement and likelihood to donate.

Phase 2 - Trust Through Transparency & Social Proof


To address the core issue of donor skepticism, we embedded trust signals throughout the entire experience. This included verified nonprofit profiles, real-time donation tracking, clear breakdowns of where funds are going, and visible social proof such as recent donor activity and community engagement. By making impact more visible and tangible, we helped shift the perception of donations from blind giving to informed, confident participation.

Phase 3 — Design System & Scalable Operations

To support long-term growth, WANDR implemented a shared design system aligned with MFA’s brand and advocacy mission. Reusable components for campaigns, education, and donation experiences enabled internal teams to launch and iterate pages more quickly.

This shift moved MFA from reactive updates toward a more structured and scalable digital operation, allowing teams to work faster while maintaining consistency across the global platform.

Together, these efforts transformed MFA’s digital platform into a clearer, more cohesive experience—one designed to convert emotional engagement into meaningful action while enabling teams to scale their impact globally.
