Design Engineer

Bridge design and code so the build matches the intent — no drift. You turn high-fidelity design into production-quality front-end.

About the role.

As a Design Engineer at Wandr, you live between Figma and the codebase. You make sure what we design is what ships — building polished, accessible front-end and the component systems that keep it consistent as products grow.

This is a hands-on role. We're small and senior, which means fewer layers, faster decisions, and direct ownership of the work you ship.

What you'll do.

  • Turn high-fidelity designs into production-quality front-end.
  • Build and maintain component libraries and design-system code.
  • Partner with designers to pressure-test feasibility early.
  • Own interaction detail, motion, and accessibility in the build.
  • Keep design and implementation in sync across engagements.

What we're looking for.

  • 5+ years building front-end for real products.
  • Expert React (and/or React Native) with strong CSS fundamentals.
  • A designer’s eye — you sweat spacing, motion, and detail.
  • Experience with design systems and component architecture.
  • Fluent English; overlap with LA / CDMX time zones.

Nice to have.

  • TypeScript, and comfort across the stack (Node.js, AWS/GCP).
  • Motion / interaction or 3D (WebGL) experience.
  • Spanish or Portuguese.
Why Wandr

Senior people, real ownership, work that ships.

01 · Embedded

You're in the room

No handoffs to strangers. You scope the work and you ship it, alongside the client's team.

02 · Senior

No busywork layer

We're deliberately small and senior. Fewer meetings, faster calls, more actual design.

03 · Remote

Work from anywhere

Remote-first across LA, CDMX, and beyond — with real time-zone overlap so collaboration works.
